Everything about our experience in this little pocket of magic was perfect! Petrina, Vicki and Phil were so warm and welcoming. The cottage itself is cosy to the max and we really enjoyed the special touches of art and lighting and story. Petrina was so responsive and helpful…even embarking on a spontaneous rescue mission when we got into a small pickle. This is the perfect romantic retreat, with so much to explore in the surrounding area. Thank you again for a very special time 💚

Great little cottage nestled high in the hills! Exactly as expected. Great enclosed patio and fully functional kitchen. Cozy living room with a ready to go fire place - and a complementary bottle of wine. Insulation is limited, so it stays cool in the off-season, but lots of blankets make it cozy. Water pressure in the bathroom is low, but as expected- it's a cottage in the Otways. Beautiful grounds and a wonderful little spot.

Petrina was such a lovely host who has thought of all the small details that made our stay extra special (chocolates and wine were a nice touch!). She even gave us some fresh corn to try straight from the garden!
The cottage was very well appointed and decked with warm cozy interiors. It makes for such a relaxing and inviting place to stay.

We loved this little cottage and found it very relaxing and private. Petrina wasn't home, but was available on message to make sure we found the place ok and had everything we needed. It is a little way out of town on a gravel road but the silence and peaceful surroundings make it worthwhile.

This was such a beautifully peaceful space to stay when visiting Apollo Bay (on the unceded land of Gulidjan and Gadubanud peoples). We sincerely did not want to leave as soon as we arrived. The care and attention provided to us as guests was like no other. I hope one day to return and stay for as long as possible. If you’re looking for an idyllic place to relax in an already stunning location—then this must be the place.

It is a stunning cottage among the trees with a perfect spot for your morning coffee! Petrina was highly responsive to any questions we had and was very helpful and even provided us with up to date weather warnings for us to be aware of.
Car is necessary to access but it's worth the gravel road for the views along the way!

The cottage was an amazing place to stay at and base ourselves to explore the Otways, starting with the sublimely beautiful and peaceful drive along Killala Rd to the property with an amazing view across the Barham River valley. The property itself was gorgeous, comfortable, well appointed and cosy, set in lush and well maintained gardens. We were welcomed by rainbow parrots, and encountered a koala while strolling with our greyhound. Driving further along Killala Rd to Beauchamp Falls was a highlight of our trip, as was visiting Lake Elizabeth near Forrest. Petrina's place was a great place to return from our Otways explorations and along the Great Ocean Road and prepare meals with local produce (fresh oysters and fish from the fish co-op shop in Apollo Bay are recommended!). I'm sure you'll enjoy a stay here. Thanks Petrina for the good vibes, Carl, Caro and Shug'.

What a spectacular property. The view, the birdlife and the drive in are magic. The space is perfect - comfortable, cosy and stylish with everything you need plus all of the nice extras. Petrina and Phil are so chill, friendly and helpful. Will absolutely come back and would recommend to anyone. Feels very private and safe too.

My partner and greyhound Ralph stayed for a week in Petrina's cottage. It served as a quiet base, away from town, for exploring the Otways. The cottage had everything we needed for our stay. The weather wasn't in our favour but the place easily made us forget about that with its beautiful open garden and peaceful surroundings. Not to mention the local wildlife in and around the property. We saw parrots, koalas, wallabies, roos, just to name a few!
Our dog was also very welcome during the stay and was allowed to walk around on lead around the garden as much as he liked. There are also other dogs that live on the property that are very sweet too.
I would highly recommend this place if you and your dog needs to unwind in privacy and close to nature.

We had the most magical stay over Christmas. The cottage was even better in person and had everything we wanted, including some lovely little touches like a bottle of wine and chocolates (both very much appreciated!). The location was incredible, lush and private surroundings with beautiful views from every window. Perfect!

The cottage at Killala Post was hidden in the mountain, just out of Apollo bay. I would recommend it to anyone needing to get away and recharge the batteries. The place is well secluded and private. The gardens are beautiful with plenty of colour. There are Rosellas everywhere and you’re bound to see a koala or two without even trying! I’d go back again for sure, it’s somewhere you can take that special person for a surprise weekend away.

The Cottage at Killala Post is incredibly charming and instantly felt like home. We loved all the thoughtfully considered details like the first fire being ready to be lit in the wood heater, the well-organized woodshed, the soap that's friendly to skin and planet - there was even parrot food supplied to entice the King Parrots to have their picture taken! The drive to the cottage offers gorgeous views, as does the cottage itself, and it is a great place for bird and koala spotting. Thank you Petrina and Vicki for a wonderful stay!

Petrina is an amazing host. She was extremely friendly and inviting, always willing to help and more than happy to help. Very generous with providing things like firewood, chocolates, wine (which we didn't drink but is very appreciated) and lots else. It was a very lovely and cozy place. Petrina was very communicative and respectful of our privacy. The place was very well hosted and we felt comfortable.
Our only real complaint was we booked this thinking it would be a coastal getaway just 15 mins from apollo bay. It is 15 minutes away but was more of a rural feeling that we were prepared for. Still incredibly nice and have no complaints about the place it self we just wernt prepared for the long windy road drive up to the place. Have paid similar amounts for rural getaways and this is still nicer than alot of them so value is incredible, Incredible views. Would definitely stay again, hosts were very friendly and by far the best dog friendly place we have had on air bnb.

We really enjoyed our break away from the big smoke. Patrina's place was exactly what we were looking. It was unique, cosy, warm, on mother nature's door-step and we loved that we could bring along our dog. I highly recommend this property as a base to explore the area. It's such a beautiful place and Petrina was a great host. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Petrina was really lovely and very responsive. we also briefly met Vicky who was also very lovely. it was a relaxing mini getaway tucked away in beautiful surroundings and a cosy fireplace. Clean, tidy and the photos don't do the cute little cottage justice. We were told it was beautiful in spring so we will definitely be back again as it was exactly what we needed. Petrina's Cottage stay was absolutely incredible - idyllic scenery, cosy and comfortable cottage and hassle free check out/in. The location just out of Apollo Bay was the perfect blend of convenience and privacy. Petrina's communication was great for the whole trip, especially when the power went out briefly at the property. Had the most wonderful weekend staying in Petrina’s cottage. The location was absolutely stunning and the cottage itself was cosy and comfortable and beautiful. We were totally immersed in beautiful views and a plethora of wildlife.
We had everything we needed, and with a quick trip into town to grab food we were self sufficient for the entire weekend.

Petrina’s place was so cosy, in beautiful mountain surrounds, a stone’s throw from everything the area has to offer. The cottage is very comfortable and private. It’s also wonderful value, with unlimited firewood and so many thoughtful touches we really appreciated, like torches, chargers and wine. Petrina was such a lovely host who went out of her way to help us feel welcome.

Rented Petrinas place for the Great Ocean Road marathon and it didn’t disappoint!! The host was really welcoming, making sure we had all the necessities and fire wood to last our stay. Petrina and Vicki were so helpful and amazing with their engagement and help. I thoroughly enjoyed staying here and had such a peaceful and relaxing time. Vicki goes above and beyond to help any time of the day. I definitely recommend staying here anytime of the year because there’s great ventilation and air conditioning for the warmer days and an amazing fireplace for the cooler days. Wonderful functional kitchen, strong and reliable wifi and great pressure and hot water in the shower. Some blinds upstairs in the bedroom are desirable for those who would like to sleep in but also not needed when there’s so much to explore in the area. Pay attention to the directions they send you as it’s easy to get lost if you arrive at night and are not familiar with the area. Wonderful wildlife and a very enjoyable stay. I’ll be back.
